High School |
If you are in high school, then you should join us at our weekend service:
During our weekend services you'll get a chance to worship God through music, hear some relevant teaching, get to discuss the message with the other high schoolers there and get to hang out with people your age. We do more than just weekend services, so come some Sunday to find out more! |

Middle School |
If your kids are in grades 5 through 8, we have a place for them to plug in and make new friends. Our middle school group meets on Sunday mornings @ 10:45am in the Gym.
We want your middle schoolers to experience the Kingdom of God on a regular basis - as part of this community of Christ-followers. We want to join with you to help demonstrate how they can actively live their faith, serve through leadership in the church, and engage their world through the power of God. Contact Alexis Dasari (contact info below) for more information. |

Elementary |
If your kids are grades 1 through 4, then we have classes for them during all three regular weekend services. Just bring them to the Vineyard Kids check-in station, and we'll take care of them. Here at Vineyard OP, we're called to do more than childcare: we believe kids can encounter God in very real ways, sometimes better than the adults can! We want the time your kids spend with us to be an opportunity to experience God through worship, teaching, small group time and fun!
Talk to Becca Andersen (contact info below) for more info.
Be sure and check out the latest elementary classroom blogs.
Parents are the number one influence in the faith development of kids. We encourage you to share your child’s ‘Choosing Jesus Story' with us so we can help other parents in bringing up their kids to know and love Jesus.
At VOP we value volunteers. We want to equip you to serve as God has called you. We have a page just for you! |

Early Childhood |
If your children are ages birth through five years old, then this is the place for you. As with all of our children's ministry, we don't believe in just childcare - even with these wee ones. We desire to help even the smallest people in our community to experience God. Classes are available for these ages during both Sunday services. Just come in and one of our greeters will point you in the right direction.
For more information, please contact Becca Andersen, our children's ministries director (contact info below).

Outreach |
As a community of people who follow Jesus, we get together a lot to serve together. We do this in a lot of ways, whether serving at a homeless shelter or praying for people at the city festival or offering free haircuts for kids. Those are just some of the outreaches we've cooked up, and we're always looking to see what God wants us to do next. Come and join us.
Wondering about what kind of outreach you, your small group or your family could do? Check out our list of outreach opportunities at outreach.vineyardop.org.
Watch for Missions and Outreach events in the Event Center to serve along with us.
You can also join the Outreach email list or find out more about outreach here at Vineyard OP by contacting David Andersen (contact info below). |

World Missions |
Vineyard OP takes the whole "going to all nations and making disciples" mandate seriously. We believe in putting our resources into planting churches led by indigenous leaders in the areas around the world where God leads us. We do this through joining in partnerships with other Vineyard churches. We are currently involved in South America, as well as North and South-East and Asia, and we are looking to join more partnerships in the years to come, as God leads.
You can sign up to join the Missions Awareness email list, or you can learn more by talking to our Missions pastor, David Andersen (contact info below). |

Weekend Worship Teams |
All of our weekend musicians and vocalists are volunteers. They do this for free because they get to use their gifts and talents to serve God and others. We're always looking for people who want to serve in this way, but you should know we don't put just anybody up on the stage. We're looking for people who love to worship as a lifestyle (not just a "Sunday-morning thing"), who have a sensitivity to God's presence, are humble and love to serve and who have musical ability on their instrument of choice. There are other things we consider as well, but you get the general idea.
If you are interested in auditioning to join the weekend worship team, then please fill out the Worship Team Audition form and we'll get back to you. For more information, you can contact our worship arts pastor, John Hix (contact info below). |

School of Worship Arts |
So maybe you don't consider yourself to be a super-talented musical artist worship leader type, but you think that maybe you could be, if someone would just take the time to show you how. Well, we created this thing called "School of Worship Arts" as a training facility for developing people's gifts and talents so they can use them to serve God and others in new ways. So, if you think you might have some talent as a musician, vocalist, actor, painter, photographer, graphic artist, director, producer, videographer, etc. then be watching for the next School of Worship Arts session over at the Event Center. Then sign up and join in. Together, we can work to release the "Creative Class" to serve God and others.
For more info, contact our Worship Arts pastor, John Hix (contact info below). |

Video Production Team |
Video is the storytelling medium of choice in our culture. Few things can convey a message with as much impact as a well-produced and thought provoking video. We have the tools and equipment to make quality videos in-house – what we need are talented individuals who would like to use their God-given creative gifts in this area. Small Group Worship Leaders |
Many of our small groups have a time of musical worship, which is usually led by a small group worship leader. We also have small groups that don't have a small group leader, but would like to have one. Maybe you already have the skills needed to lead a small group in worship. If this is you, please contact our Connecting and Small Groups pastor, Fred Hoffman (contact info below) to learn where you might be able to serve.
If you are interested in learning to be a small group worship leader, we recommend you attend the next session of the School of Worship Arts worship leader training. You can watch for this over at the Event Center. |

Soaking Prayer Ministry |
Soaking prayer gives individuals a chance to receive compassionate personal prayer minisry over and extended period of time, where we rely on the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to bring about healing. We will pray for physical, emotional and spiritual issues during these 30-50 minute prayer sessions.
We are currently scheduling SP only on designated Wednesday evenings. Note that we anticipate a waiting list to develop for scheduled Soaking Prayer. Also note there is no guarantee that you will be healed. Divine healing is the province of the Lord, and though pray-ers ask for the healing of those being prayed for, the Lord alone determines the extent to which individuals are healed.
If you are interested in signing up for the next session (February 20th), read the Soaking Prayer Release Statement below, then sign up online or click here to download the printable PDF version of the request form. Once you have completed the form, turn it into the Vineyard church office by mail or in person.
Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Mailing Address: 8301 Lamar Ave., Overland Park, KS 66207
Contact John Hix (johnhix at vineyardop.org) for more information.
*SOAKING PRAYER RELEASE STATEMENT I have read and understand that healing is not guaranteed. I understand that Soaking Prayer is not a substitute for professional medical attention including professional counseling, and I recognize that God uses many means to heal, including medicine. I understand further that my progress will be evaluated on a regular basis by the Soaking Prayer ministry leaders, who reserve the right to determine if Soaking Prayer will continue or be terminated. |
