Worship Arts

Weekend Worship Teams

All of our weekend musicians and vocalists are volunteers. They do this for free because they get to use their gifts and talents to serve God and others.  We're always looking for people who want to serve in this way, but you should know we don't put just anybody up on the stage.  We're looking for people who love to worship as a lifestyle (not just a "Sunday-morning thing"), who have a sensitivity to God's presence, are humble and love to serve and who have musical ability on their instrument of choice.  There are other things we consider as well, but you get the general idea.

If you are interested in auditioning to join the weekend worship team, then please fill out the Worship Team Audition form and we'll get back to you.  For more information, you can contact our worship arts pastor, John Hix (contact info below).

Drama Team

Often times, the dramatic arts can communicate truth straight to people's hearts in ways that talking and teaching can't.  We love that.  God made us to experience him in many different ways, and so our drama team takes this idea and runs with it.  This is another opportunity for people to use their gifts and talents to serve God and others.

We use drama on occasionin our weekend servics, as well as in our video productoin ministry.  If you have acting experience, or theater production experience, and would like to be involved in future productions, please contact John Hix, or call  him at (913) 381-5577.

Media/Tech Team

Are you both creative and technically minded?  Our media tech team is a volunteer team that gets to use their gifts and talents to serve God and others through audio and video presentation and production.  Our media tech team includes:

  • Running sound for weekend services
  • Running lights and video presentation for weekend services
  • In-house video production

If you are interested in joining the media tech team, or if you just want to know more about the team, please contact our worship arts pastor, John Hix (contact info below).

School of Worship Arts

So maybe you don't consider yourself to be a super-talented musical artist worship leader type, but you think that maybe you could be, if someone would just take the time to show you how.  Well, we created this thing called "School of Worship Arts" as a training facility for developing people's gifts and talents so they can use them to serve God and others in new ways.  So, if you think you might have some talent as a musician, vocalist, actor, painter, photographer, graphic artist, director, producer, videographer, etc. then be watching for the next School of Worship Arts session over at the Event Center.  Then sign up and join in.  Together, we can work to release the "Creative Class" to serve God and others.

For more info, contact our Worship Arts pastor, John Hix (contact info below).

Video Production Team

Video is the storytelling medium of choice in our culture. Few things can convey a message with as much impact as a well-produced and thought provoking video. We have the tools and equipment to make quality videos in-house – what we need are talented individuals who would like to use their God-given creative gifts in this area.

Our Video Production Team will be making videos of all kinds for Vineyard, including testimony clips, event hilights, sermon illustrations, and dramatic productions. Using our Mac based editing software (Final Cut Express) and camera gear (Panasonic AG-HMC-150p, Lowell light kit, Sennheiser mics & wireless), we want to produce quality material that speaks directly to our church.

If you have experience in video production, videography, sound recording, lighting, or are tech savvy and would like to learn, please click here to sign up for the team. If you have questions, please contact John Hix.

Small Group Worship Leaders

Many of our small groups have a time of musical worship, which is usually led by a small group worship leader.  We also have small groups that don't have a small group leader, but would like to have one.  Maybe you already have the skills needed to lead a small group in worship.  If this is you, please contact our Connecting and Small Groups pastor, Fred Hoffman (contact info below) to learn where you might be able to serve.

If you are interested in learning to be a small group worship leader, we recommend you attend the next session of the School of Worship Arts worship leader training.  You can watch for this over at the Event Center.
