What If The Church...Served Together?

David Andersen
What If The Church Serve Day is Saturday, May 1st, from 8 in the morning until roughly 4 in the afternoon, and we are providing lunch. You can sign up at whatifthechurch.net. We want you there, and we need to know you're coming, so please sign up. Now, you probably already know about What If The Church, but let me tell you again - we have 24 churches in the Kansas City metro area that are working together. That's amazing. They are divided into groups of three called triads, and our triad is made up of Heartland ...

Nine Hills Worth Defending

Mark Warner
My wife, Dianne, and I have been married for twenty-seven years. If you know me, that fact alone should tell you a lot about my wife. My personality is decidedly type "A". I'm a fairly intense, passionate and outspoken guy who struggles at times with high-high's and low-low's. In my mind, everything is either coming up roses or the world is coming to an end. I'm exaggerating but you get the picture. Dianne, on the other hand, is far more balanced, patient and full of faith, to name just a few of the gifts she brings to our relationship. ...

What If The Church...Believed Together?

David Andersen
What If The Church is headed into it's third and final week, and the excitement is growing for the "God Of This City" worship night on Wednesday, April 28th and the Serve Day on Saturday, May 1st. Now, you probably already know about What If The Church, but let me tell you again - we have 24 churches in the Kansas City metro area that are working together. That's amazing. They are divided into groups of three called triads, and our triad is made up of Heartland Community Church, Christ Church and Vineyard OP. This past week, ...

No More Roaming . . .

Fred Hoffman
Our Small Group Fair was another huge success at Vineyard. Most of our groups were able to receive people looking for a place to connect. And "connecting" was our theme; as in how is your connection? The 28 groups represented outdid themselves again this year with offerings of pizza rolls, breads, donuts and cookies. And people signed up for everything from standard weekly small groups to egg art to fishing.

The Clown Prince

Mark Warner
He would have been 80 years old on March 12th and, had he lived, he probably would have been wetting a line in Elk Creek, fishing with one of his sons or another young man who needed someone to talk to. He was a great listener, an even greater coach. He loved children, his own most of all, and I feel his loss more ardently with each passing day. Over the years, I've heard people say about those who have passed, "Not a day goes by that I don't think of them." I used to think it was just an expression, now I know better. My dad was an ...

Worship and Generosity Event Raises Over $12,000!

David Andersen
On Sunday night, March 28th, over 200 people gathered to worship God together and to demonstrate God's generous nature. The evening started with people bringing their lightly used and new shoes to the front of the auditorium and stacking them on the stage. Then the crowd worshipped together for an extended time. The second generosity event of the evening was an offering taken to be given away to three of our missions partners, both local and global. At the end of the event, when the shoes and money were counted, the Vineyard OP community ...

What If The Church...?

David Andersen
"What If The Church" is a 4-week-long project among 24 churches in the KC metro area. These churches vary in size, denomination, style, locations (urban, suburban, etc) socio-economic levels, etc. These churches are working together in groups of 3 called "triads". Vineyard OP is in a triad with Christ Church (91st and Nall) and Heartland Community Church (Olathe). These churches together are going to do 3 things: A 3-part teaching series together where the pastors from each church will swap pulpits for one week each. A blow out ...
